Recognising and rewarding Queensland’s unsung community champions

The Department of the Premier and Cabinet’s Queensland Reconciliation Awards recognise businesses, organisations and educational institutions that take positive steps towards reconciliation and Aruga is honoured to have delivered the media relations for the program since 2019.

Over the last four years we’ve mined our networks to spread the word to encourage a stream of nominations, promoted the prestigious awards ceremony across Queensland and secured high-quality editorial coverage to highlight the worthy winners.

Winning tactics

Thumbs Up

Aruga leveraged our media connections and capitalised on the popularity of the campaign’s ambassador Johnathan Thurston by securing mainstream media interviews including The CourierMail, B105 and Nova.

Peace Sign

Regional Queensland was a significant campaign focus, so Aruga’s media strategy prioritised regional broadcast programs, resulting in a 10 News First Queensland syndication, reaching viewers in Rockhampton, Townsville and the Sunshine Coast among others.
