When Queensland Country Bank (QCB) stepped up to the crease as a major partner of the Brisbane Heat’s Big Bash 2024 season, it sought a hospitality experience that was as iconic and fun as backyard cricket itself. BonBon kitted up to transform this vision into reality and The Backyard was born.
Inspired by Aussie backyard cricket, we turned nostalgia into a tangible, ticketed experience inside the Gabba. The Backyard delivered the ultimate laidback summer vibes from a Hills Hoist strung with Brisbane Heat merch, a classic wheelie bin stencilled with wickets, and a barbie sizzling with snags. The space was a cheeky nod to backyard hangs while delivering a premium viewing and hospitality experience for fans.
QCB’s innings didn’t stop there. In the Gabba Park pre-match activation zone, we built brand awareness and engagement with a spinning wheel and merchandise giveaways that were hard to miss – just like those iconic QCB orange sunnies in the crowd! A custom-built and branded HeATM captured interest, dispensing prizes and pumping up the crowd alongside the wheel.
BonBon also supported the Hit Your Bills for Six competition with live updates and on-ground execution. Promotional staff were out and about collecting entries and chatting with fans, keeping the energy high and the competition top of mind all season long.
On match nights, QCB was well and truly in play, with brand integration extending to live camera crosses and on-field support.
The result? A big hit for fans and a standout season for Queensland Country Bank.
