Growing a Queensland tradition, year after year

Aruga has partnered with Brisbane Markets for seven consecutive years, to support one of Queensland’s most recognisable annual traditions, the Brisbane Markets Mango Auction. Marking the symbolic arrival of mango season, the event brings together growers, wholesalers and retailers for a morning of fundraising, friendly competition and celebration.

Tasked with driving awareness, Aruga delivered an earned media campaign positioning the auction as both a feel-good charity event and Queensland’s unofficial start to Summer. From securing national breakfast television coverage and live radio broadcasts to managing media attendance on the ground, the campaign ensured audiences across Australia followed the story as the first tray of the season went under the hammer.

In 2026, the event achieved its biggest result yet. The symbolic tray sold for an incredible $70,000, while the auction raised more than $82,000 for Redkite and The Lady Musgrave Trust, making it the highest fundraising result in the event’s history. Combined with nationwide media coverage, the campaign reinforced the Brisbane Markets Mango Auction as a beloved Queensland tradition that continues to capture headlines year after year.
