Ghanem Group Hospitality’s latest venture, Alfi Eatery & Bar, is set to open at 12pm on Thursday 22nd October within Everton Plaza’s bustling food precinct, Park Lane, dishing up vibrant family-style Italian eats in the suburbs.
Unfolding over a sprawling 800 square metres – including a spacious 200-seat al fresco courtyard, an open-plan kitchen and an impressive, U-shaped bar area – Alfi promises a dining experience that embodies the spirit of the Amalfi Coast.
Alfi marks the hospitality giant’s 10th venue in Brisbane and 13th in Australia, following the historic opening of the heritage-listed Hotel Terminus in June.
As the group’s first foray into suburban Brisbane, Managing Director Nehme Ghanem says Alfi has been a long time coming.
“Our intention was to bring a slice of Italy to Everton Park; to create a neighbourhood restaurant for locals to gather over a spritz and genuine soul food.
“This has been a real passion project for us and we can’t wait to welcome the neighbourhood into Alfi.”
At the helm in the kitchen is Head Chef Roberto D’Anna, a Palermo-born chef who cut his teeth in restaurants and resorts around the world before arriving in Brisbane in 2014. Since then, he has worked at Fortitude Valley’s Ristorante Tartufo and the iconic, now-defunct Gambaro Seafood Restaurant.
He brings over 20 years of experience to the Alfi kitchen, was named a finalist for Queensland Chef of the Year in 2023 and serves as the Queensland Coordinator for the Federazione Italiana Cuochi (Italian Federation of Chefs).
D’Anna says the menu is a love letter to Italian cooking, with an Australian sensibility.
“Each dish on the menu reflects our commitment to spotlighting the incredible local produce we have here in Brisbane,” he says.
“Our focus is on injecting these simple, authentic Italian flavours with fresh, seasonal, distinctly Australian ingredients, all while upholding the incredibly high standard synonymous with the Ghanem Group name.”
On the menu, beloved pub classics sit seamlessly alongside sophisticated Italian dishes, making Alfi just as suitable for a mid-week dinner as a special occasion.
Think slow-roasted porchetta rolled with garlic, fennel seed and pepper, rosemary jus; chicken parmigiana; spicy vodka parmesan rigatoni; beef ragú napoletano; baked barramundi with potatoes, garlic, white wine and traditional acqua pazza broth; and a selection of woodfired pizzas centred around Alfi’s signature in-house dough, made fresh each morning and naturally slow-fermented over 36 hours.
At the heart of the 350-seat venue is a Valoriani Forte pizza oven, crafted by one of Tuscany’s most celebrated oven-making families.
The fit-out was designed by Southport-based interior design studio Space Cubed, a long-time creative partner of Ghanem Group Hospitality, behind some of its most iconic venues, including Donna Chang, Blackbird, Byblos and Hotel Terminus.
With a palette inspired by European summers, the airy interiors feature light timber, Italian stone and marble, and pastel upholstery, complemented by curved ceiling features and dining booths fitted with curtains that can be drawn for private dining.
Throughout the dining room, high, low and communal table settings sit alongside bar seating, creating a variety of spaces that allow for everything from casual catch-ups to Sunday sessions and family dinners.
“We designed a series of interconnected spaces, each with its own personality, that encourage people to move freely between intimate dining moments, lively gatherings and relaxed alfresco experiences,” she said.
With all the hallmarks of a neighbourhood favourite – delicious food, a come-as-you-are attitude and trademark Italian hospitality – Alfi is poised to make its mark on the northside.
Alfi Eatery & Bar opens 12pm Thursday 22 October 2026.
