Independent creative communications agency Aruga has been shortlisted across four categories in two of Australia’s most prestigious industry award programs.
The Brisbane-based agency has been named a finalist for B&T’s Consumer PR Agency of the Year and QLD/Other States/Territories Agency of the Year, as well as CPRA Agency of the Year (Medium). Adding to the recognition, Group Account Director Nat Ogbourne has been shortlisted for CPRA Professional of the Year (Agency).
The recognition comes off the back of a defining year for Aruga which has delivered campaigns amplifying some of Queensland’s most recognised organisations and experiences, from shaping Brisbane and Queensland’s national brand narrative with Brisbane Economic Development Agency and Tourism and Events Queensland, to championing the stories of the Brisbane Broncos, Bridge to Brisbane, Brisbane Airport, La Boite Theatre, Queensland Theatre, Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Ipswich City Council.
Co-Founder Donna Kramer said the nominations were a reminder of what independence can achieve.
“We’re pinching ourselves and feeling very grateful,” Kramer said.
“In an industry full of multinationals and big national players, these nominations already feel like a cause for celebration for our small, independent Brisbane agency.
“To also see our brilliant Group Account Director, Nat, recognised is incredibly special. Nat has been with us since the beginning and her growth is a point of real pride. With her about to embark on her biggest project yet – maternity leave – the timing couldn’t be more perfect.”
Co-Founder Adam Brunes highlighted the privilege of elevating Queensland’s best stories on a national stage.
“To share their stories nationally and to have that work acknowledged by our peers is something we take enormous pride in.”
While the winners are yet to be announced, the shortlisting is being marked as a milestone for the independent agency and as recognition of the growing influence of Brisbane and Queensland brands on the national stage.
