Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services (QPWS), a division of the Department of Environment and Science, is the nature conservation agency responsible for managing protected areas, forests and wildlife throughout Queensland.

QPWS’s vision is to ensure Queensland’s parks and forests are protected, enjoyed and cherished, and they use their Gateway Visitor Centres to deliver education and experiences that inspire action, increase knowledge and connect people with Queensland’s national parks.

As one of Queensland’s premier ecotourism educational attractions, QPWS sought Aruga’s assistance to develop a refreshed visual identity and style guide and develop a three-year integrated marketing and communications plan for two Gateway Visitor Centres: Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre and David Fleay Wildlife Park.

QPWS Style Guide Sample
Aruga created two distinct but complementary brand platforms to give both Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre and David Fleay Wildlife Park a unique identity.
QPWS Commissioned Illustrations
QPWS and Aruga worked with illustrator Xiaofei Li to draw custom flora and fauna native to each Park location.
Xiaofei Li introduced unique QPWS Ranger characters to be utilised as part of our refreshed brand toolkit.
Aruga provided a suite of brand assets to demonstrate the look and feel in action.
QPWS Collateral Sample
In addition to developing brand guidelines for each site, Aruga supplied a range of marketing collateral samples to ensure a clean and consistent rollout by QPWS's internal team.
