Essential Queensland charity DVConnect has provided pathways to safety from domestic, family and sexual violence across the state since 1980, and launched VictimConnect in 2022 to support individuals impacted by violent crime in Queensland.

Aruga was engaged to support the charity’s team during an internal resource transition by providing organic social media management for DVConnect and VictimConnect, from September 2024 to April 2025.

From strategic content planning to design, copywriting and implementation across Facebook and Instagram, Aruga’s support elevated the charity’s owned channel presence and generated greater brand awareness about its mission to help vulnerable Queenslanders.

Aruga’s nine-month retainer resulted in 138 total organic feed posts, reaching an estimated audience of 90,900 people, boosting engagement and earning 610 new followers.

Investing time in industry research and incorporating sector news worked a treat, with information-rich content resonating strongly with DVConnect and VictimConnect audiences. These include two edu-taining posts: 3 Reminders To Help Set Boundaries In 2025 and Coercive Control Laws In Queensland.

Aruga worked closely with DVConnect to produce reactive content and jump on timely news or announcements. When Cyclone Alfred hit South-East Queensland in February 2025, Aruga managed a reactive content piece for DVConnect and VictimConnect to promote their 24/7 helpline support.
