Consider us influenced

4 minutes read

They’re sitting at your favourite restaurants, popping up on your TV screens and appearing in the palm of your hand. Influencer marketing has made it to the “in” list for 2024 and it’s not going “out” anytime soon. Aruga understands the power of influencer marketing. We’ve partnered with global content creators to drive tourism, sent influencers down the red carpet at exclusive events and even convinced some of our city’s best-loved celebs to give up their prized possessions for a good cause.

Join us as we shine the spotlight on six of Aruga’s favourite Influencer campaigns:

SPOTLIGHT: Vertigo at Brisbane Powerhouse

To showcase just how special Brisbane’s first vertical restaurant was, we welcomed high-quality influencers with daring appetites to Vertigo at Brisbane Powerhouse. This mutual trust resulted in Ebony Heinemann from @wanderingelsewhere_ on TikTok reaching 1.5M views, piquing the interest of news.com.au and gaining national syndication. We also worked closely with Brisbane Powerhouse to leverage partnerships with Brisbane Economic Development Agency and Tourism & Events Queensland for promotion via their socials, using their brands to act as influencers.

SPOTLIGHT: Brisbane Airport Corporation

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is on a mission to change the way that airport dining is perceived. To tackle this, Aruga hosted an exclusive, never-before-done dining event in the Domestic Terminal with some of Brisbane’s key lifestyle, travel and food influencers. Not many people can say they’ve been to the airport, enjoyed five-star meals at three posh venues, then headed home without setting foot on a plane. By providing our content creators with unique experiences to discuss and capture, we amplified BAC’s brand visibility in an unforgettable way. Oh, and this activation helped us take out the top spot at the International Airport FAB & Hospitality Conference Awards 2023 for Global Food & Beverage Marketing Campaign of the Year.

SPOTLIGHT: The Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane 2023

The Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane had a clear focus on what a successful ambassador program looked like to them: a sold-out event with people of all abilities participating. The results? From the 10 content creators Aruga recruited, we saw over 8K in engagements, an audience reach of more than 188K on social media, 582 visits to the @bridge2brisbane Instagram page and 85 registrations from their discount codes. Did we mention it was a sold-out event?

SPOTLIGHT: Vinnies Finderfest 2023

For Finderfest 2023, the Vinnies team was clear about its goal – to partner with Queensland celebs who would use their social media presence to drive awareness and traffic to its Queensland stores. Aruga identified, negotiated, and managed some of the state’s top-tier celebs including Reece Walsh, Ricki-Lee, Ball Park Music, Troy Cassar-Daley, Jem Cassar-Daley, Rachel Burke and Thessy Batsinilas. From signed footy boots to hand-painted guitars to highly sought-after collectors’ items, we secured money-can’t-buy personal items to incentivise store visitation and generate hype around the three-day event.

SPOTLIGHT: Brisbane Economic Development Agency

Aruga worked with Brisbane Economic Development Agency to bring well-loved Melbourne content creator Gemma Watts to Brisbane. Of course, she fell in love with Brisbane, posting five times more than her contracted deliverables for Instagram Stories, as well as extra Brisbane-loving TikToks and Reels. By giving her a flexible brief while providing enough detail on what Brisbane has to offer, we were able to trust her creativity to show her authentic personality and create genuine content.

SPOTLIGHT: Green Beacon

Social media is home to a loyal and passionate beer community. We connected with these local legends to get the word out about Green Beacon’s new Low-Carb Hazy Pale Ale, Subtropic as official Green Beacon Canbassadors, putting a unique spin on the typical ambassador role in this landscape. This positioning of our influencers not only held the brand values closely to the relationship but created a strong sense of community around the product.
