Brisbane Airport engaged BonBon and Aruga to create engaging experiences for travellers moving through its Domestic and International Terminals. The brief was to design bright, family-friendly activations to bring energy and playfulness to vacant shopfronts and underutilised spaces, especially during peak holiday periods.
We grabbed attention with our first activation: a seven-metre hoarding in the International Terminal that farewelled departing passengers and doubled as a playful photo backdrop. It featured bold, cheerful typography woven with vibrant illustrations of native Australian animals and visual nods to Brisbane, encouraging travellers to stop, snap and share before take-off.
Over multiple school holidays, major events and Christmas seasons, Aruga and BonBon delivered a rotating calendar of themed activities and placemaking moments across the domestic and international terminals.
From activity books and prize wheels to wall decals, window takeovers, and novelty boarding passes, every activation element was crafted to be fun, colourful and immersive.
Our activations kept kids happy and entertained, families and travellers engaged, and retailers connected to the buzz.
